Providing Water to Villages

Caring for people physically is a very basic building block of kingdom work. Physical caring often provides the first oppotunity to introduce a person to the loving, caring heart of God.
While meeting people's needs by providing drinking water, we also helped bring water near enough to villages to allow for increased irrigation of small gardens in those village. Endeavors such as these have significant impact on the health and productivity of the local people.

When we assist a community by bringing fresh water to their village, we consider the gospel parallel of John 4. The Samaritan woman at the well is a wonderful bridge into the heart of Jesus. It tells of fresh living water for those that will embrace the truth and the heart worship of God.

In many of these areas women are the “beast of burden”. They collect firewood and haul all the water that is used in the household. Many of these watering holes are miles from the village To conserve water, the average tribal woman will drink about 8 ounces of water a day. Although Asian women perspire less than Western women, dehydration can be a concern.
