Community Farming and the Community Farm Tithe
In some areas of the world there is little available cash and people still barter for most goods. One of the things we do for the communities of believers as they grow is to help them with the concept of Biblical giving. In these regions the saying “time is money and money is time” aptly fits.
Because there is little money (currency) to be found we created community farm projects where members of the believing community can tithe their time to a farm or an orchard. Community farms are an alternative way of sowing money, as people in these dyadic (group-mentality) societies understand the need to work together for agrarian tasks.
This "farm tithe" gives village pastors and church planters the means to sustain their families and focus on the task of equipping the believers with the word and prayer. We help teach other strategies such as instructing the believers to set aside one cup of rice before it goes into the pot for the evening meal. On Sundays this rice becomes a gift of love and worship. For most of these folks this is a sacrifice.
Investing in such outreaches creates residual, long lasting use of your money and a broader reaching impact for people we desire to reach.
