Emergency Relief Fund

As you may have heard, the cyclone that hit Burma's coastal regions and traveled northeast along the Burma/Thai border has killed over 130,000 people and destroyed over a million homes. New reports are estimating that 350,000 have already died, and thousands may still be dying EVERY day from disease and famine.  For those of you who wish to help those impacted by the cyclone in Burma, please follow the "Give Now" link. Any funds above and beyond relief needs will go to caring for children at risk. In a disaster of this magnitude, it is always the children who suffer the most in the years following.

reliefWe are part of a network of friends, NGO’s, pastors and leaders that has successfully:
  • Sent in 15,000 lbs of Vitameal for food needs
  • Sent in 100 rolls of plastic sheeting for shelter
  • Sent in more than $175,000 USD for food, shelter, medicine
  • Sent in more than $19,000 in communications equipment
  • Made personal contact with scores of destitute people in the delta region, bringing the message of Jesus’ love and hope
  • Restored or rebuilt 4 children’s homes damaged by the storm
  • Delivered 12 specialized water filters that can provide drinking water for up to 12,000 per day
  • Sent 210,000 water purification packets (en route) that can save approximately 23,000 lives
  • Touched over 1,000 children lost or orphaned in the cyclone, who are now at risk of being trafficked.  We have begun negotiating homes for 30 such children.

Thank you for moving in God's heart of compassion for those affected by the disaster! Although media attention has waned, the needs are still dire.  This is a time to demonstrate God's mercy and love in the midst of overwhelming calamity.
